The Judge of Albania was shot after a man caused a fire during the trial in the appeals court of the capital Tirana.
Judge Astrit Kalaja died on the way to the hospital, officials said. It is said that two other two (fathers and sons) were shot by two other (fathers and sons) who were involved in the hearing on property disputes but were injured in life.
The police arrested a 30 -year -old male suspect confirmed by the initial “E SH”, but the Albanian media was nominated for Elvis SHKëMBI.
Albania’s Prime Minister Eddie Rama expressed mourning to the family judge of Kalaja.
He also demanded strict security in the court and demanded a rough punishment for holding illegal weapons.
Sali Berisha, the leader of the opposition Democratic Party, added that the murder of a color self -judge was the first to be killed in 35 years.
According to local media reports, the suspect of the murder of Judge Kalaja was expected to lose the case.
SHKëMBI’s uncle and the guards of the court were also reportedly arrested for shooting.
In court, firearm attacks on judges are rare but occur. Ten years ago, the judge of Milan’s Justice Department was killed by a person who was tried for bankruptcy.
The gunman murdered a lawyer and his co -accused before he escaped, but was later arrested.
Judge Kalaza has been a lawyer for more than 30 years. He first worked in the District Court and was appointed an appeal court in Tirana in 2019.
Among the Balkans, Albania had the highest number of firearms related to public disputes for the first six months of this year.
In January and June, there were 43 cases of guns involved in Albania’s public conflicts.
However, this is smaller than the number recorded in the same period last year and less than the number of events reported in Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first half of 2025.
