Argentine striker Julian Alvarez has revealed he wants to leave Atletico Madrid to “fulfill his dream.”
Alvarez is a target of Atletico’s city rivals Real Madrid, who had a £129m bid for the forward rejected earlier this month.
Alvarez is also the subject of interest from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
“I spoke to the people at the club, the people I had to talk to and the best thing for everyone is a move and I want to fulfill my dream,” Alvarez said after Argentina beat Austria 2-0 in Group J of the World Cup.
“Now is not the time to talk about this, but we cannot hide it. I try to be an honest person.”
Atletico rejected Real Madrid’s offer, citing the £431m release clause in Alvarez’s contract.
They also mocked Barcelona’s attempts to sign Alvarez this summer.
Alvarez, who has a contract until 2030 after joining Atletico from Manchester City for £81m in 2024, said his future was not yet set.
He added, “I don’t know when it will be resolved.”
