Kimchi recalled due to undeclared fish

Ocinet Inc., Downey, California, is recalling all “…And Kimchi” brand sliced ​​kimchi (UPC 8541200408, UPC 8541200409, and UPC 8541200411) because they contain undeclared fish (anchovies).

People who are allergic or have a severe sensitivity to fish may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled product was distributed to the following six retailers:

  • Zion Market – 2405 S Stemmons Fwy, Lewisville, TX, 75067

The product is sold in a 126 ounce (3.57 kg) transparent plastic container, a 63 ounce (1.78 kg) transparent plastic container, and a 30 ounce (850 g) transparent plastic container, all of which are marked with the ‘…and kimchi’ logo in red letters.

The UPC numbers are 8541200408 (126-ounce bottle), 8651200409 (63-ounce bottle), and 8541200411 (30-ounce bottle).

There have been no reported illnesses as of the time of publication of the recall notice.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of fish. Distribution of the product will be discontinued until the company is confident the problem has been resolved.
