In recent developments in the Bitcoin field, Layer Edge We have launched the testnet of HMDA, a pioneering protocol that enables secure and verifiable timestamping on Bitcoin. This advancement promises improved security and efficiency on rollup and PoS-based chains, while establishing Bitcoin as the source of truth.
Introducing LayerEdge's HMDA Protocol
LayerEdge's Hybrid Modular Data Availability (HMDA) protocol has been unveiled as a key innovation in the Bitcoin space. Designed to integrate seamlessly with leading frameworks and Data Availability (DA) layers, HMDA solidifies Bitcoin's role as a foundational element in the Bitcoin ecosystem. The protocol addresses the critical need for an effective timestamping solution, particularly in the context of Bitcoin's scaling solution.
The protocol is designed as a plugin compatible with multiple frameworks and DA layers, using Bitcoin as a source of truth for PoS-based chains and rollups, enhancing integrity and security, and providing many conveniences such as fast disconnects, new realm launches, and transaction protection.
Key Integrations
LayerEdge has built technology integrations with industry leaders including Arbitrum Orbit Stack and Avail DA, which underscore LayerEdge’s commitment to providing a robust and scalable timestamping solution that enables Bitcoin’s PoW security. The expansion of these integrations further strengthens LayerEdge’s position as a leader in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Introducing LayerEdge
LayerEdge HMDA is a modular timestamping protocol for settling data on Bitcoin via existing data availability solutions. The protocol is designed as a plug-in that can be compatible with multiple frameworks and DA layers, enhancing integrity and security by using Bitcoin as a source of truth, and providing many conveniences such as fast unlinking, new realm launches, and transaction protection for Bitcoin scaling solutions.
It was founded by Ayush Gupta, former Gnosis CTO and Principal Engineer at Samsung R&D. While at Samsung, Ayush wrote SW that authenticates and authorizes access to various services running on all Samsung smart devices.
