Ishi Wong took wickets in his first two overs, dismissing Central Sparks' top three batsmen as Western Storm cruised to a 182-run win in the Rachel Hayhoe Flint Trophy.
Wong, who has played 14 times in all competitions for England, has not played for his country since September last year due to fitness issues.
In the last international, a T20I against Sri Lanka, Wong hit three no-balls, two wides and four boundaries in two overs.
Wong made her England debut in all three formats in the summer of 2022, and scored a hat-trick in the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League while bowling for Mumbai Indians in 2023.
Despite her struggles since then, the 22-year-old fast bowler reminded us of her considerable talents when she bowled Eve Jones for a yorker on the first ball, added Abigail Freeborn caught right after to complete her hat-trick, and then ducked Chloe Brewer out lbw in her second over.
Wong (3-20), on loan from Sparks to the Storm, might have had a hat-trick had there been a third slip when he threw his first ball to Davina Perin, but a thick edge flew past the gap.
Perrin top-scored for Sparks with 42 but only three batsmen reached double figures as they were bowled out for a paltry total of 102 in 25 overs as they chased 285 for victory. Off-spinner Chloe Skelton (3-8) also took three wickets while Alex Griffiths took 2-23.
Storm coach Trevor Griffin said after the win: “The 280 total was a fantastic score, and it gave our pitchers a chance to go out there and attack the hitters. Ishi did a great job of that.
“She was fantastic for us. She bowled well, worked hard and had a smile on her face. I thought she bowled at a tremendous pace today.”
Earlier, Australia's Amanda-Jade Wellington made 83 off 53 balls, while Storm captain Sophie Ruff batted first and scored 60 to take the score to 284.
Regardless of the result, both teams finished in the bottom two places of the RHF Trophy, with the Storm narrowly trailing bottom Sparks at the top of the league with three wins from 10 games.
