Jolly Rancher pulls jelly
Jolly Rancher has been synonymous with hard candy for most of its 75-year history. Now, the Hershey-owned brand is expanding into gummies.
The sweet and savory snack maker is launching Jolly Rancher Ropes, which come in two flavors: Green Apple + Watermelon and Blue Raspberry + Cherry.
Jolly Rancher rope is available nationwide in 6-ounce and 10-ounce bags at retailers and online.
“If you thought you loved Jolly Rancher before, just wait until you try Jolly Rancher Ropes!” Daniel Ford, Jolly Rancher’s senior brand manager, said in a statement. “We know this new innovation will quickly become a fan favorite with younger consumers.”
The newly launched Jolly Rancher Ropes are part of Hershey’s effort to expand its gummy candy line in a fast-growing category that is especially popular with younger consumers.
According to data from Market Growth Report, the jelly candy market is expected to grow from USD 495 million in 2019 to USD 750 million by 2032, at a CAGR of 6.4%.
Just this year, Hershey released gummy candies as part of a collaboration with basketball star Shaquille O’Neal. Jolly Rancher also released Awesome Reds, a sour gummy mix with flavors like cherry, pomegranate, watermelon, and fruit punch.

Smucker Unveils Latest Uncrustables Flavors
JM Smucker’s is welcoming back-to-school season with a new kind of Uncrustable Sandwich.
The iconic PB&J is back with a new flavor after 10 years: Peanut Butter & Raspberry Spread Sandwich.
Chris Achenbach, Smucker’s marketing director, said in a statement that the product will help further the brand’s goal of providing convenient, on-the-go meals that appeal to families.
“New flavors that excite kids, convenient options for adults on the go – our goal is to provide delicious food in the midst of busy lives,” Achenbach said.
First introduced in 1995, Uncrustable is a staple in school lunches nationwide. Known as a portable meal option for kids who can be found in the freezer aisle, the raspberry flavor joins other sandwich varieties such as grape, strawberry, honey, and chocolate-flavored hazelnut. The Uncrustable brand has been a standout for Smucker’s, and the Ohio company expects it will eventually become a billion-dollar brand.
Uncrustable has expanded beyond its namesake peanut butter and jelly. In 2022, the brand unveiled frozen bites and cheese bites aimed at school lunches.
