KitKat gives Santa a break
The rectangular Kit Kat makes for a more seasonal look this holiday season.
Hershey is launching the first seasonal format of the popular treat with Kit Kat Santas. The limited-time offering is decorated with engraved boots, a playful smile, and a crunchier wafer-to-chocolate ratio than traditional Kit Kat bars. The confectionery giant said in a statement:
Kit Kat Santas are available in 8.85-ounce snack-size bags at retailers nationwide. The company is also partnering with Simon Property tGroup to provide free Kit Kats on its “Nice List” to those visiting Santa at three malls in New York, Illinois and California.
“Our first iteration of KitKat Santas builds on the KitKat brand’s product portfolio and offers consumers a new way to delight,” Scott Sorensen, assistant manager of KitKat, said in a statement. “This seasonal twist on the traditional KIT KAT bar is sure to become a new annual ritual for fans, giving them a taste of more to come from the brand.”
Kit Kat has introduced many flavor variations of its chocolate wafer bars, but the new shape is a notable change. Hershey plans to release more unique Kit Kat shapes to coincide with other major holidays and events.
