Quinn’s PB&J Sandwich on a Pretzel

Natural snack food manufacturer Quinn has put a new spin on its iconic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Colorado company launches Quinn PB&J Berry Pretzel Nuggets. The snacks are certified gluten-free, Non-GMO Project Verified, and vegan. It’s also made without corn, soy, wheat or dairy.

“I ate a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches growing up,” Quinn’s founder Kristy Lewis said in a statement. “I ate it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack on the go! It became my fuel during car trips, school lunches and after-school shuffles.”

Lewis said his favorite dish was a mix of strawberry and raspberry jelly, topped with creamy peanut butter on whole wheat bread. This was the inspiration for Quinn’s PB&J Berry Pretzel Nuggets.

According to data from the National Peanut Board, the average American eats nearly 3,000 PB&Js in their lifetime, and the average adult eats PB&Js three times a month.

By choosing PB&J for its latest product launch, Quinn is capitalizing on a popular flavor that will resonate with many adults and children. The 15-year-old brand will also benefit from the portability and simplicity trends popular with consumers on the go.

Diageo dips Baileys in chocolate

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, popular beverage brands are collaborating on comfort products designed for consumers looking for a sweet treat.

The brand announced the launch of Dolci Frutta Baileys Irish Cream Flavored Melting Wafers. The dessert is a non-alcoholic version of the liqueur flavor added to the chocolate sauce. Chocolate sauce is designed to be melted in the microwave and set at room temperature for dipping or drizzling on food.

According to the press release, the product can be used for a variety of purposes, including dipping strawberries or adding it to sundaes and cakes. Dolci Frutta, owned by Saco Foods, is best known for its hard shell dessert toppings.

Melting wafers are currently available in grocery stores and online.

Baileys was first introduced in Ireland in 1974, combining whiskey, cream and cocoa to create a decadent, sweet beer.

Diageo, the maker of Guinness, has expanded the reach of its iconic brand beyond beverages into food and dessert categories by licensing its flavors and intellectual property. In 2018, Baileys appeared in chocolate baking chips. The following year, the brand collaborated with Kraft Heinz on a range of coffee products, including the ready-to-drink Salted Caramel Cold Brew.
