Veteran striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new one-year deal at Leicester, while Jannik Vestergaard has signed a new deal that will see the defender remain at the King Power Stadium until the summer of 2027.

Vardy signed at Fleetwood in 2012 and the 37-year-old is set to extend his contract to a 13th season at the King Power after agreeing a contract for the 2024/25 season.

The former England international scored 20 goals in 37 appearances as the Foxes earned promotion to the Premier League in the 23/24 season.

“I’m delighted to have achieved the numbers I achieved last season, but there is still more to come,” Vardy said.

“I take care of myself. I’ve always said that age is just a number. My legs are good so I can get through it until they say, ‘Enough is the game.’ That day will come, but not now.

“We are looking forward to another season of the Premier League and seeing what we can do. 100 per cent, it is the best league in the world. That is where you want to play your football.”

Vardy scored 190 goals in 464 games for the club and won the Premier League and FA Cup.
