The panel made up of Kate Tracey, Sam Boswell and Declan Rix paid special attention to Newbury’s feature event, the Boyle Sports Lockinge Stakes. sky sports racing 2:35 PM.
Damysus and Zeus Olympios are challenging each other for the market lead, with four-time Group One winner Notable Speech leading the rest for renewal this year.
Declan Rix of Attheraces.com…
“I decided on a price I could afford. easy Because Francis Henri-Graffard and Mickael Barzalona can do no wrong at the moment. I think he is too expensive given his profile and recent records of four-year-olds in this race.
“Last season he beat Rosallion when he won the Prix du Moulin and beat a few others here as well. He was so green on his last start in the Breeders’ Cup last year and he will have learned a lot from that race. As long as the ground stays fast he is good value.”
Host Kate Tracy…
“I’m going to sue. more thunder A favorite to win at Newbury, he won here at Hungerford last year and is by my best sire ‘Night Of Thunder’ who won at Lockinge. Today I thought he looked like a certain Group 1 winner who could definitely stay a mile.
“He is very versatile and I think he can be emotional at 6f/7f & 1m and has already won over 1m 2f. This may be his first attempt at a mile and he may be worried, but his will to win is what I like most about him and he could have taken his first Group 1 win of his career.”
Sam Boswell of BetVictor…
“This looks like a competitive renewal, but me and Declan will support each other’s choices here. easy. I thought the Del Mar run could be an upgrade considering the track had sharp turns that I had never seen before.
“Newbury’s ground should be good despite how much he has been watered in the build-up to suit the ground. I think his price is disrespectful and he is a good bet for me all around.”
