Daryl Clark's eight-minute hat-trick helped Super League top-flight St Helens to a 52-6 win over London Broncos at the Twickenham Stoop.
Clark scored three quick scores early in the second half to add to the disappointment for the Broncos, who were two points clear at the bottom of the table.
St Helens were at their creative best early on and Moses Mbye's quality was on full display when a well-executed kick found Waqa Blake for the first goal after seven minutes.
The Saints enjoyed a physical encounter as the northern club was patient in attack and opted for midfield carries that caused damage to Broncos defenders.
Their patience was rewarded when they scored another try, a fine quick exchange of passes that ended with Blake diving into the right corner to score his second try. Mark Percival converted from a difficult angle as his team took a 12-0 lead.
Mbye, who had been the Saints' star man up to that point, produced another spell, this time combining with Sione Mata'utia and Lewis Dodd to show his turn of pace to break through the defense before the latter touched down.
Percival made it 3-of-3 with the boot before Mbye scored a worthy try of his own. The Australian didn't choose to spread the ball out wide, he modeled and went into the gaps to score.
The Broncos were having a forgettable day as they were limited to a few chances in south London. Mike Eccles' side were given a break in the 33rd minute but a lively recovery from Blake saw them finish the first half 24-0 up.
A smart play from James Bell set up another score early in the second half. Bell pulled off a tackle, freed his hands and delivered a quick offload to the surging Clark, who sprang into action.
And the prostitute did not have to wait long for the second, which came in the 50th minute. Clark once again combined with Bell in raiding the Broncos' scattered back line.
As Saints fans serenaded Clark to Bruce Springsteen's “Dancing In The Dark,” he completed his hat-trick by exploiting open space in midfield and displaying his incredible touchdown speed. Percival extended his perfect kick record to seven goals.
St Helens looked too easy at times as they wandered into spaces not occupied by bottom-placed London. It was a reminder of why the Wimbledon club has struggled to adapt to life in the top flight.
As the Broncos began to fall apart, the Saints extended their lead to 46-0 through a powerful Konrad Hurrell. Percival missed his first kick of the evening before scoring himself, converting eight from nine.
London finally managed to get a consolation point through Lee Kershaw and Oliver Leyland as extras, but Saints held on for a convincing win.
