Lucid Motors completes its first gravity SUV

According to a post from X, the first Lucid Motors Gravity SUV has started rolling off the company’s production line in Casa Grande, Arizona. The company will now aim to ramp up production of the new electric vehicle and make the first deliveries. The company is staying mum on when it will deliver to customers.

This is a significant milestone for Lucid, which is building on Gravity’s SUV form factor to greater success than its current only model, the Air sedan.

Air started much slower than Lucid had originally expected. Although sales have grown over the past few quarters, the company continues to turn to its majority shareholder, Saudi Arabia, for more money to keep it afloat through the first year of Gravity production and delivery.

The initial “Grand Touring” version of the Gravity starts at $94,900. The company boasts a range of over 440 miles on a full charge. Two electric motors (one front, one rear) help produce the equivalent of 828 horsepower. Two rows are provided by default, but a third row is available as an option.

A cheaper version of the Gravity is expected to roll off Lucid’s production line in “late 2025,” with prices starting at $79,900.
