Tanzanian-owned hospitality group The Wilderness Collection will open a luxury tented camp in Serengeti National Park this spring. This marks the company’s second site in the region, following the successful launch of Craters Edge in Ngorongoro last year.
Expected to welcome its first guests on June 1, Warangi Ridge Lodge features 20 tented suites perched atop granite cliffs, overlooking the Serengeti’s iconic savannas, grasslands and kopzes (ancient granite outcrops that dot the landscape). Provides an open view. The property’s design is inspired by the endangered pangolin and incorporates elements that reflect the local ecosystem.
Camp Features
Each luxury tent will include a private deck with a plunge pool, while two family-oriented two-bedroom suites will accommodate multi-generational travelers. Rooms feature king-sized beds, freestanding bathtubs and outdoor showers, and combine traditional safari ambience with modern luxury.
The camp’s location, approximately 25 miles from the Seronera airstrip, is strategically placed along the Great Migration route, providing year-round wildlife viewing opportunities. The property is located within the Serengeti Cheetah Project research area and the Tanzania National Parks Authority research area, highlighting the company’s commitment to conservation efforts.
Activities include day and night game drives, river walks along the Orangi River, specialist bird walks and nature walks. The property also offers child-friendly activities for guests ages 5-15.
The main lodge area includes a library, lounge bar and restaurant, as well as wellness facilities including a yoga deck, outdoor gym and spa. An infinity pool will serve as the centerpiece of the property overlooking the Serengeti plains.
