BeOnd, a dedicated business class airline based in the Maldives that serves six cities in Europe and the Middle East, plans to open a U.S. network.
The BeOnd America brand will begin with eight aircraft and operate in partnership with New Pacific Airlines, an Alaska-based charter airline that holds a U.S. commercial airline operating certificate. BeOnd America did not disclose a launch date or flight location.
Under the agreement, New Pacific will operate flights sold under the BeOnd brand. New Pacific operates three Boeing 757-200s. Formerly called Northern Pacific Airways, the company initially planned to operate as a commercial airline connecting passengers from continental U.S. airports to Asia via Anchorage.
After changing the brand to New Pacific, it converted to a charter-only model last year.
BeOnd, which began operations in 2023, operates only two aircraft: the Airbus A321 narrowbody and the Airbus A319. The plane has a single cabin with all reclining seats.
The airlines did not say which aircraft types they would use for U.S. service.
All business class airlines are rare. One of the continuing routes is La Compagnie, connecting Paris, Nice, Milan and Newark.
