
Four people suffered minor to moderate injuries in a bear attack at a steel mill in Fukushima, Japan.
Police and fire officials rushed to a residential area in Sasakino-gu after receiving an emergency report from a steel mill that several employees had been attacked by bears.
Security camera footage shows the black bear chasing an employee near the building’s entrance, knocking the employee to the ground and running toward the building.
As of Tuesday evening, the bear had not been caught by authorities and is believed to be hiding inside a building on the property.
Two types of bears are found in Japan. The Asian black bear and the larger brown bear found on the island of Hokkaido.
In 2025, the number of people killed by bears in the country reached a record high.
