Man charged and eight arrested for chanting tragic slogans for Liverpool and Manchester City | soccer news

A 19-year-old man has been charged with shouting tragic slogans during Sunday’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Eight other men were also arrested on suspicion of the same offense during the match at Anfield.

Merseyside Police said Kian Holt, from Medlar Wisham, Lancashire, was charged under Section 3 of the Football Offenses Act 1991 and is due to appear at Sefton Magistrates’ Court on January 8.

a 38-year-old man from Audenshaw, a 52-year-old man from Denton and a 57-year-old man, all from Failsworth, Greater Manchester; A 53-year-old man from Manchester; A 32-year-old man from Macclesfield, Cheshire; And a 28-year-old from Prestwich was arrested on suspicion of shouting tragedy and each was released on bail, police said.

A 58-year-old man and a 47-year-old man from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, were also arrested on the same charge but were released on voluntary attendance.
