Meta’s founder Mark Zuckerberg said that social media companies will spend hundreds of millions of dollars in building a huge AI data center in the United States.
Zuckerberg said the first multi -giga watt data center called Prometheus is expected to come online in 2026.
He said that one of the sites would cover the area of Manhattan size almost (59.1 square kilometers/22.8 square miles).
META has made a lot of effort to develop “Superintelligence”.
The company, which earns most of the money in online advertising, generated more than $ 160 billion in 2024.
Zuckerberg said in a post on his social media platform, META has built several multi -giga watt clusters and that a cluster called Hyperion can extend to up to five Giga Watts for several years.
“We are building several Titan clusters. One of them deals with a large part of Manhattan’s footsteps,” he added.
Prometheus will be built in New Albani, Ohio, and Hyperion will be built in Louisiana and is expected to be completely online by 2030, Zuckerberg said.
He said, “We’ll invest tens of billions of dollars to invest tens of billions of dollars.” The center has given the “names for size and influence” to the center.
Karl Freund, the principal analyst of Cambrian AI Research, told the BBC, “Zuckerberg is clearly trying to spend his way to the summit of AI hips.”
“The talent he is hired will be able to access some of the world’s best AI hardware.”
Reuters reported that it had a 1% higher deal after the announcement of the meta stock price. By this year, stock prices have increased by more than 20%.
There are at least 10,000 data centers in the world, and most of the data centers that host a cloud remote server that stores most digital information are in the United States, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany.
AI -centered data centers are very energy and water. One study suggests that these centers can consume 1.7 trillion gallons worldwide by 2027. For example, a single AI query, such as the Chatgpt request, can use as many water as a small bottle to be purchased at the corner store.
