Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers gives update on Matt O'Riley's future amid interest from Brighton and a potential return for Norwich striker Adam Idah

Rodgers previously warned clubs that O'Riley would not leave Celtic on the cheap this summer.

“Obviously there will be bids for Matt O'Riley, but again, we don't have to sell and we don't want to sell,” he said. Sky Sports News.

“If an offer comes in that matches the player's value, that's another matter.

“Up until that moment, I was pretty comfortable with him because he was training really hard and working really hard. Until things change, we're just going to focus on performing.

“The difficulty teams face when they come to a club like Celtic is that sometimes they value the league rather than the players.

“What's important to me is that if a player leaves here, you pay them what they deserve. That doesn't always happen.

“No player is going to leave here without a proper valuation, and there's no team that's even close to that right now.”
