@Meandia/XIndia and the United States have been making progress in negotiations with quantum trade negotiations, while countries have announced a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi’s JD Vance vice president.
Vance is currently visiting India with his wife and three children.
MODI wrote in X after the Monday night meeting, “We promise mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade, technology, defense, energy and exchange between people.” He also hosted dinner for Vance and his family.
India is one of many countries that negotiates trade transactions with the United States during the 90 -day suspension of President Donald Trump’s high tariffs, and ends on July 9.
India faced 27%of US tariffs before the suspension was announced. Since then, Delhi and Washington have been trying to conclude the initial conclusion of trade negotiations.
Modi and Trump share warm personal relationships. The Indian Prime Minister was one of the first global leaders who visited Trump after the second term began. But the US president repeatedly took the high tariffs of India and branded the “tariff king” and “big abused”.
In a statement issued on Monday after the Vance meeting, Jamieson Greer, a US trade representative, emphasized “a serious lack of mutuality in trade relationships with India.”
India has already reduced tariffs on multiple products over the past few months and is considering a broader cut to calm Trump. But agriculture -Washington wants a bigger approach, but India still protects it.
MODI’s office also discussed cooperation in the defense, strategic technology and energy sectors in addition to trade.
Indians also said they are looking forward to welcoming Trump this year to India. Delhi is hosting Quad Summit at the end of this year, and the US president is expected to attend this time.
The bilateral conversation continued with a delegation conversation and a dinner hosted by MODI.
Getty imageVance arrived in India on Monday and arrived with his wife, Usha and three children. Usha Vance’s parents moved from southern Andhra pradesh to the United States, and some media reports say Vance and his wife want to introduce their children to the Indian heritage.
Photographs of three children wearing Indian-style costumes-the two boys of Kurta Falima and a three-year-old Mirabel, who are wearing Leshenga, popped up across the Indian newspaper and website.
The rest of the Vance is mostly personal. After meeting with Modi, the family left for Jaipur City and visited the historic Armer Fort on Tuesday. VANCE is also expected to give a speech about Jaipur’s US-Indian relationship.
The family will also visit the US on Wednesday and fly to the United States the next day.
