team news

  • Forest have made five changes since the Arsenal defeat. It was the most change from one game to another this season.
  • Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson returned from injury, Chris Wood returned to the front line, Neco Williams started at left-back and Jota Silva made his first PL start.
  • Ipswich made one change from their home draw with Man Utd with Conor Chaplin coming to the bench in place of Wes Burns.

Ipswich twice went close in the opening half of the first half when Forest defender Ola Aina saved Cameron Burgess’ header in the 23rd minute, before Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels did well to save Omari Hutchinson’s shot 10 minutes later.

But Forest started the second half quickly and were awarded a penalty when Sammie Szmodics brought down Jota Silva and Wood put the home side ahead.

Ipswich, who needed a fine save from Arijanet Muric from Murillo’s header to not fall any further behind, failed to mount a comeback in a disappointing second half performance as they had just one shot on target.

The loss for Kieran McKenna’s side ended their three-game unbeaten run and saw them slip to second and remain in the relegation zone.
