National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions plans to add Charaidew II to its charter fleet in 2026. The ship is scheduled to sail on one cruise in India in March 2026. Guests can sail the full 18-day itinerary or the 11-day itinerary.
The cruise departs New Delhi on March 19. The itinerary combines exploration of the lesser-visited region of Assam and legendary sites and wildlife sanctuaries in the north, including the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort of Agra, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Guests will embark on a Jeep safari through Bandhavgarh and Kaziranga national parks. They will also visit Kolkata and its colorful markets.
Guests can choose an 11-day itinerary to board from Kolkata. This part does not include Taj Mahal and Bandhavgarh National Parks.
National Geographic-Lindblad said Charaidew II boasts a very shallow draft and low height that allows it to sail further upstream than any other vessel in the Brahmaputra.
The ship’s accommodations include 17 air-conditioned cabins comprising two deluxe cabins, 11 standard cabins on the upper deck and four additional standard cabins on the main deck. Shared spaces including a sun deck, mini library, bar and gym.
