Iran says Hezbollah is behind the reported attack, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations said “the actions in question were carried out by Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

Hezbollah, which is funded and equipped by Iran, did not comment on the report.

The attack came as Israel prepares to respond to a large-scale ballistic missile attack by Iran on October 1. Israel’s defense minister said Israel’s response was “deadly, precise and surprising.”

The Israeli military said three drones were launched from Lebanon, one of which struck a building in Caesarea.

It has not been confirmed whether the building in question is part of the Prime Minister’s residence or the extent of the damage.

US media outlet Axios reported that the drones actually struck a residential area and were launched by Hezbollah.

At 08:19 local time (06:19 BST), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said: “Over the past hour, three drones have crossed the Israeli border from Lebanon.”

“Two aircraft were intercepted. Another aircraft hit a building in Caesarea, but there were no injuries.”

The Israeli prime minister makes use of two private homes in Caesarea and Jerusalem and also spent time at Beit Aghion, his official residence in Jerusalem, which is currently being renovated.
