
United will begin flights between Newark and Marrakech, Morocco in October, making it the first airline to announce service between the United States and Marrakech.
The airline will also launch pioneer routes to Cebu, Philippines and Medellin, Colombia in the summer and fall.
The airline will operate Newark to Marrakech three times a week starting October 24 on a Boeing 767-300ER with Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
Marrakech will be United's only destination in Morocco and their fifth destination in Africa, following Accra, Ghana. Lagos, Nigeria; Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.

United will begin flying to Medellin on October 27 with daily flights from Houston Bush Intercontinental. The airline will operate the route with Boeing 737 narrowbodies and will be the only airline to fly between Houston and Colombia's “City of Eternal Spring.”
The route to Cebu, United's first Philippine beach destination, is scheduled to launch on July 31 and will also include a connection at Tokyo Narita. United will be the only U.S. airline serving Cebu and will compete on Narita-Cebu with Cebu Air, Philippine Airlines and Philippine AirAsia, according to Cirium flight schedule data.
United said it will reserve the flight, which will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, to provide a convenient connection to Narita service to and from Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and Newark.

United also said it plans to launch a four-times-a-week Los Angeles-Shanghai service on August 29, with daily service scheduled for late October. The announcement follows plans to increase the total number of weekly flights that U.S. airlines can fly to China from 31 to 50.
United will compete with Delta and China Eastern on Los Angeles-Shanghai, according to Cirium data.
