New York Starbucks image could be key to finding Brian Thompson’s killer

The shooting occurred around 6:45 a.m. ET (11:45 GMT) on a busy Manhattan street near Times Square and Central Park. Thompson was scheduled to speak at an investor conference later that day.

The suspect, wearing a black mask and a light brown or cream-colored jacket, appeared to be waiting for Thompson for five minutes outside the Hilton Hotel, where Thompson was scheduled to speak, according to police.

Thompson, who arrived on foot, was shot in the back and leg and pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at a local hospital.

NYPD Detective Joseph Kenney said the suspect’s weapon appeared to be jammed, but he was able to quickly fix it and continue shooting.

According to BBC verification, the criminal was captured on CCTV footage attaching a silencer, also known as a silencer, to his pistol.

The video shows him fleeing the scene on foot. Officials initially said the suspect used an electric Citi Bike owned by Lyft.

But Lyft, which owns and operates Citi Bike, said it was later told by the NYPD that one of its vehicles had not been used, according to the BBC’s US partner CBS News.
