After this sale ends, Nordstrom plans to hold a summer clearance sale. This usually occurs in late August and lasts through the Labor Day holiday. Then you’ll find another major sale at Nordstrom in November: Nordstrom’s Black Friday Sale.
2. Take advantage of RetailMeNot cashback at Nordstrom
Turn your savings into a strategy. Before filling your cart with Nordstrom Anniversary Sale items, download the RetailMeNot browser extension and/or the RetailMeNot Rewards app. Otherwise, you’re basically throwing free money out the window. RetailMeNot allows you to earn cash back on every purchase you make at Nordstrom. This means that a % of your total purchase amount is returned in the form of cash that can be used for future expenses.
3. Become a Nordi Club member
If you are not a Nordy Club member, join now. Did you do it? exorbitant! Now that you’re a member of the department store’s free loyalty program, you can earn rewards that can help you save money at Nordstrom.
How this program works is simple.
- Enter your phone number at checkout and you’ll earn 1 point for every $ you spend at Nordstrom.
- For every 1,000 points you receive a $10 bill.
In addition to the rewards points system, becoming a Nordy Club member includes free 2-day shipping (in select areas), birthday benefits, and beauty benefits. Plus, as a Nordy Club member, you can enjoy a variety of benefits at Nordstrom Rack.
4. Use RetailMeNot Nordstrom Promo Code
Before we dive into this, here’s a quick note to keep in mind. Nordstrom doesn’t often offer promo codes for discounts. Some retailers love promotions and coupon codes and almost always have codes you can use at checkout for an extra discount, but Nordstrom isn’t one of them.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t find coupons or promo codes to use on your Nordstrom purchases. Always check RetailMeNot. If you download the extension and the RetailMeNot Rewards app (as mentioned above), this step will be taken care of for you so you can find the best prices and shop with confidence.
5. Get free shipping on your Nordstrom purchases.
Having to pay for returns through restocking fees or shipping costs can actually detract from your shopping experience. Luckily, this isn’t something you need to worry about when shopping at Nordstrom.
Choosing the free standard shipping option is one of the best ways to save money at Nordstrom and get your order within 3-6 business days (if you live in the US). This is true even if you live in Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. If you don’t like something you order from Nordstrom, you can also return it for free.
6. Get a Nordstrom Credit Card (And Earn More Points)
We do not recommend signing up for a new credit card just for savings purposes. However, if you’re a frequent Nordstrom shopper, it might be wise to take a look. Here are the perks of the Nordstrom Credit Card:
- Sign up for $60 off your next purchase
- Early Access to Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
- Save an additional 5% off at Nordstrom Rack
- Earn more rewards points per purchase (minimum 2 points per dollar spent)
- Take advantage of Double Point Day
- Earn points on other purchases (outside of Nordstrom)
- Get up to $200 (or more) for changes reimbursed with Nordstrom Notes.
- Access to all Nordy Club benefits
- No annual fee
7. Shop at Nordstrom Rack and ‘Clear the Rack’ this weekend.
If you love Nordstrom and good deals, you should visit Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom Rack often feels like an upscale version of a thrift store. It’s full of great finds and deals, but the selection is so varied that you’ll have to do some digging. My personal favorite, tbh.
Nordy Club perks also apply to shopping at Nordstrom Rack and include exclusive discounts, early access to new products and sales, and more. Nordstrom Rack is also hosting a literally exciting “Clear the Rack” weekend. This is a huge discount event with huge additional discounts.
8. Request price adjustment from Nordstrom
Invested in that gorgeous Dôen dress you’ve been eyeing for months but found it cheaper? Have no fear. You might not know Nordstrom, but they have an impressive price matching policy! If Nordstrom itself or a competitor (see list below*) reduces the price of an item you purchased, you can request a price adjustment! This must be done within 10 days of delivery. Of course, keep the terms and conditions in mind.
*Details to keep in mind:
1. The color and size of the products must be the same.
2. Product must be in stock at both Nordstrom and the selected competitor.
3. You can only request price adjustments for products sold at the following retailers: Freepeople.com, Katespade.com, Nike.com, Amazon (must be sold and shipped by Amazon), Bloomingdale’s, Finish Line, Foot Locker, Macy’s, Mr Porter, Neiman Marcus, NET-A-PORTER, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Shopbop, Ulta Beauty, and Zappos.
