
George Wendt, who appeared as Norm Peterson in a popular comedy series Cheers, died at the age of 76.
The loved ones and comedians died peacefully at home early on Tuesday morning, his family said.
“George is a doting family man, a loved one, and a lucky people to know him. He will miss it forever.”
WENDT appeared in standards in 275 toast episodes in 1982-93. He has won six consecutive Emmy candidates for outstanding support actors in the comedy series.
Wendt’s character standard was a well -loved bar.
His bar was a gag running on the show, and after he welcomed other supporters, the crowd shouted his name.
Wendt re -combined with some casts in the 75th 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, including TED Danson, Rhaea Perlman, Kelsey Grammer and John Ratzenberger.
In addition to NBC sitcoms, WENDT has appeared in several films such as Dreamscape, Forever Young and Gung Ho.
He also appeared as the father of a boy played by Macaulay Culkin in Michael Jackson’s Black or White Music video released in 1991.
He has been married to fellow actor Bernadette Birkett since 1978 and has three children.
He was also an actor’s uncle and comedian JASON SUDEIKIS, and is most recently famous for playing the title character in the sports comedy TED Lasso.
