Ahead of a deadline set by Congress, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the files would not be released in time, citing additional work needed to protect victims’ identities. “We are reviewing every document that we will produce to ensure that every victim is fully protected to the extent that it is necessary to protect them, including their names, identities and stories,” he said at the time.
