Tyrrell Hatton is one of eight DP World Tour members cleared to compete in conflicting tournaments on the LIV Golf circuit in 2026. But Jon Rahm doesn’t.
Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig and Elvis Smylie are other players who have received this dispensation.
The eight golfers will retain their membership and will not face disciplinary action provided they meet a set of conditions that all players have accepted.
This includes paying all outstanding fines for violations of DP World Tour rules and withdrawing all pending appeals.
The group must also participate in additional DP World Tour tournaments and media activities as prescribed.
Rahm was not included in the list as he had previously said he had “no intention” of paying a fine for breaking membership guidelines by appearing at LIV events without permission.
The two-time major champion’s fine is estimated at around £2.5 million.
This may put the Spaniard’s participation in next year’s Ryder Cup in Ireland in doubt, but after recent developments Hatton’s eligibility now appears certain.
DP World Tour argued that the release only applies to 2026 and is not “precedent-setting” and that requests for further releases should be considered on an individual basis.
Disciplinary action will continue to be taken against members who are not released and play in conflicting LIV events.
