Organic ice cream recalled due to metal fragments

Straus Family Creamery is recalling several productions of certain flavors and sizes of its organic ice cream due to the potential presence of metal contaminants.

Related lots were distributed to retailers in 17 states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, NJ, OR, PA, SC, TX, WA, and WI. It has been on display since May 4th.

The FDA has been notified of this recall and Straus Family Creamery is working with retailers to remove the affected product from shelves.

No injuries were reported.

We ask that consumers who purchased the product in question discard it.

The recalled ice cream is packaged in quart and pint sizes in paper cups with seals and lids. It is labeled Straus Family Creamery Organic Super Premium Ice Cream.
