Fry Pie Factory has announced a recall of 5-ounce pepperoni rolls due to misbranding related to undeclared milk, known allergens, and process deviations related to refrigeration.
The company said the pepperoni rolls were not stored, distributed or sold at appropriate temperatures, which could allow for pathogenic growth and pose a risk of food poisoning.
The recalled products were distributed by Fry Pie Factory to convenience stores, grocery stores and gas stations throughout Ohio and parts of West Virginia. The company’s recall notice did not include a labeling code.
No illnesses were reported. However, consumers who are allergic or have a severe sensitivity to milk may be at risk of developing a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. Anyone with signs of allergic reaction or food poisoning should contact their health care provider immediately.
Consumers must discard the pepperoni rolls or return them to Fry Pie Factory for a full refund.
