A new luxury resort opens in Madagascar this September.
Located on the island of Sainte-Marie off the northeastern coast of Madagascar, Boara will initially open with eight bungalows, one three-bedroom villa, and two restaurants.
The resort, which is planned to open in several phases, will eventually offer a total of 45 accommodations and five food and beverage venues. The spa is expected to open later this year.
The property will feature rustic materials and natural design, while the culinary program will highlight the island's local specialities, including seafood.
Voaara is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur and travel expert Philippe Kjellgren, who founded Kiwi Collection, a hotel and resort review and booking platform, in 2003. He is also the founder of PK's List, a travel advisory service within the SmartFlyer family.
Boara's concept of “quiet, barefoot luxury” was inspired by some of Shellgren's favorite hotels, including The Brando in French Polynesia, Ushuaia Casa in Brazil and Parador La Hueja in Uruguay.
Room rates at Boara start at around $850 per night for two people, including meals.
