Porter Airlines offers new Bahamas service from Montreal. The non-stop flight service is the airline’s first Caribbean service from Montreal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Nassau (NAS). This is a winter seasonal flight that operates three times a week. This route complements existing service from Toronto (YYZ) and Ottawa (YOW).
Andrew Pierce, vice president of network planning and reporting, sees the flight as a positive development for the airline. “Launching our first Caribbean flight from Montreal is a great addition to travelers who want more choice and convenience when planning their winter getaway.” He also promised that passengers would receive “Porter’s premium economy experience, including no middle seats and thoughtful service.”
According to Vernice Walkine, President and CEO of Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD), the new route “further strengthens the airport’s role as a key regional hub and reflects the continued, strategic growth of the Bahamas’ airlift sector.” She said she looked forward “to continuing to work closely with Porter Airlines and our tourism and aviation partners to ensure the long-term success of this new route.”
New Bahamas Service
The new Bahamas service will be operated by Porter’s Embraer E195-E2. The aircraft has 132 seats in a comfortable 2×2 configuration.
