My Pot Sticker Soup is what you make when you Busy, hungry, And I still need something fast It’s really delicious. All you need is a few frozen pot stickers, some simple broth, and some vegetables!
Why is it worth making this?
- Better texture: Instead of putting the dumplings directly into the soup, fry them in an earthen pot first until golden brown. This adds flavor and keeps it from getting mushy.
- It’s fast and family friendly.: Minimize preparation with frozen pot stickers and simple ingredients. It’s warm, filling, and quick to make. Perfect for a weeknight!
- Customized: You can use any type of pot sticker and replace it with whatever vegetables or broth you have on hand.
pot sticker soup ingredients
- Pot Stickers: Wontons, pot stickers, gyoza, or any type of frozen dumpling will work. Use your favorite filling. Sear the outside until it gets caramelized and crispy.
- vegetable: Switch up the vegetables depending on what you have on hand. Bok choy, kale, white mushrooms, and leeks all work great.
- broth: You can use chicken broth, beef broth, bone broth, vegetable broth, etc., whatever you like.
How to Make Pot Sticker Soup
Most potsticker soup recipes call it delicious by dropping the dumplings directly into the broth. I like to crisp mine up in a pan before adding the broth. You’ll get a better texture, more flavor, and a soup that isn’t soggy!
- Crunchy Pot Stickers: Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add frozen pot stickers and cook for a few minutes on each side until lightly browned.
- Roasted Vegetables: Add sesame oil, minced garlic, fresh ginger, shredded green cabbage, shredded carrots, and green onions. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
- boil: Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce, bring the broth to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer. Boil for 5 minutes.
- Add spinach and serve: Turn off the heat, add young spinach and mix. Serve pot sticker soup hot, garnished with sesame seeds and more green onions, if desired.
