Pounded yam recalled due to undeclared milk

Fayus Inc., Sacramento, California, doing business as Yusol International Foods, is recalling OLA-OLA POUNDED YAM. This is because the product may contain undeclared milk in the form of sodium caseinate, which is not listed on the label.

People with a sensitivity or allergy to milk may be at risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product.

The recall was initiated as a result of an internal investigation that discovered that some packaged OLA-OLA POUNDED YAM had been distributed in packaging that did not disclose the presence of milk-derived sodium caseinate.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes.

OLA-OLA POUNDED YAM was distributed from December 2025 to May 2026 through distribution channels in Canada, Australia, and the United States.

Consumers should check the expiration date indicated on the front of the package. Fayus Inc. is working to place dairy allergy warning stickers on affected products that remain on store shelves.
