Premier League Darts returns for a new season on Thursday. Sky Sports live broadcastNewcastle hosts the opening day of the 2026 fixture.

Eight of the world’s best darts players will battle it out over 17 nights, with the tournament taking place every Thursday from 5 February to 28 May at venues across the UK and Europe.

World champion Luke Littler and defending Premier League champion Luke Humphries headline the eight-man line-up, while world youth champion Gian van Veen and fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen are automatic qualifiers.

Welsh duo Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton also feature, while last year’s Premier League bottom Stephen Bunting and debutant Josh Rock round out the line-up as other wild cards.

From 2022, each night of the Premier League will be transformed into a mini-tournament with eight players competing in four quarter-finals, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals and then a night final.

Opening night will see Littler take on Van Veen. A repeat of the World Darts Championship final, with either Clayton or Rock awaiting the winner, Humphries facing former world champions Price and Van Gerwen taking on Bunting.

Newcastle’s first match of the week will be played at the Utilita Arena.

The venue was previously known as Newcastle Arena, Telewest Arena and Metro Radio Arena and has a maximum capacity of around 11,000.
