Protein White Hot Chocolate – Skinny Taste

High Protein White Hot Chocolate

When I want hot chocolate, I usually eat white hot chocolate. One night, while trying to meet my protein goal, I made this simple, protein-packed white hot chocolate. I happily microwaved it and it immediately became my favorite dish to eat on cold nights. You can also boil it on the stove. It gives you a cozy feeling while satisfying all your sweet and protein goals in one cozy cup! For more festive drinks, try the Frozen Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Pomegranate Martini.

Why you’ll love this high-protein snack

Call me weird, but I prefer white hot chocolate to traditional hot cocoa. I don’t like caffeine, but when I want something hot and sweet, I like Starbucks’ white chocolate hot chocolate. So I really loved this Homemade White Hot Chocolate with Premade Vanilla Protein Shake. (Don’t use powder here, it won’t taste good)!

  • High in protein: This is a great high-protein snack if you’re craving something warm and sweet. One cup contains over 15 grams of protein!
  • easy: Instructions for the microwave and stovetop are included below. Both methods only take a few minutes.
  • 3 ingredients: All you need is a vanilla protein shake, white chocolate chips, and cinnamon.
  • Dietary Restrictions: Weight Watchers friendly, vegetarian, vegan (if you use a vegan protein shake and chocolate chips), gluten-free, high protein.

white hot chocolate ingredients

This simple white hot chocolate recipe requires just three ingredients to create a warm and cozy treat. See recipe card for exact measurements.

  • Vanilla Protein Shake: The taste of this drink will depend on the vanilla protein shake you choose, so choose your favorite. I do not recommend using protein powder. This is because it tends to be too rough and doesn’t blend well. I tested several liquid protein shakes and found that Fairlife Nutrition Plan Vanilla and Orgain Clean Protein Shake in Vanilla Bean worked best.
  • White Chocolate Chips: I use Lily’s sugar-free white chocolate chips to cut down on carbs, but any brand will work, including chopping up a white chocolate bar.
  • spices: Add some warming spices like cinnamon or nutmeg on top.
  • Optional toppings: Top your mug with white chocolate chips, white chocolate shavings, mini marshmallows, whipped cream or crushed candy canes for a festive look.

Because it’s so easy to make, I only make enough to drink at a time. However, if you have leftover food, refrigerate it for two days and then reheat it in the microwave.
