
Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur SA in San Carlos, Chile, recalls frozen food GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberry – 10 oz This is because it may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O145:H28 (E. coli O145).
E. coli O145 is a substance that produces Shiga toxins. E. coli (STEC) can cause an illness characterized by severe stomach cramps, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and vomiting. Most healthy individuals recover within a week, but some infections can cause a serious complication called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), especially in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
The recalled products were shipped to Publix retail stores in eight states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Consumers should check their freezers for availability of the product.
The affected product lots are:

- Publix advises customers to return or discard frozen GreenWise blueberry products with a purchase date on or before July 3, 2026.
No other lot codes or expiration dates are affected by this recall.
Between May 11, 2026, and June 5, 2026, 12 confirmed cases of consumers experiencing gastrointestinal illness associated with E. coli O145:H28 infection were reported.
After receiving reports of consumers experiencing digestive problems and consuming GreenWise frozen blueberries as part of their diet, Frutas y Hortalizas SA decided to initiate a recall.
Consumers who have frozen GreenWise blueberry products labeled with the applicable lot date must: don’t spend.
Frutas y Hortalizas SA is working closely with applicable regulators and customers regarding this recall. The company has instructed all customers who received the affected lot to immediately quarantine the product, discontinue distribution, and notify all downstream customers who may have received the affected lot.
