Qantas will see the biggest increase in reward seat availability from July.
The introduction of the Classic Plus reward seat category will give you 20 million more seats available to redeem using Qantas Points over a 12-month period.
These seats will be used to increase the number of Classic Reward seats currently offered by Qantas each year, to five million.
The new Classic Plus seats are available exclusively to Qantas Frequent Flyer members, but it’s also possible to book Classic seats with points on other Oneworld partner airlines, including American and Alaska.
Qantas has announced that most international and domestic seats can now be booked with points as it increases its award seat pool by 20 million.
Although more widely available, the new Classic Plus seats are generally more expensive to redeem than Classic seats, and prices vary based on demand. In contrast, Classic seats are sold at a fixed redemption price, similar to the system that U.S. airlines once used in their award charts.
Classic Plus seats are available on Qantas international flights departing Australia from July 1. They will be available across the airline’s international and domestic network until the end of the year.
Bookings must be made directly with Qantas.
