On July 22, Qatar Airways launches a new triangular route to South America. The first loop flies from Doha to Caracas, then to Bogotá and finally back to Doha. However, the route will then operate in the opposite direction, flying directly to Bogotá and then returning to Doha via Caracas. The maximum one-stop block time on this route from December to July is 20 hours and 50 minutes. Flights depart from Doha twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Qatar Airways’ addition of new flights to Bogotá and Caracas is expected to represent a coup of sorts in the South American market for the Middle Eastern airline, considering it currently serves only one destination in the region.
