Jaydon Banel scored a late winner for Derby as they came from behind twice to beat QPR 3-2 and compete for a Sky Bet Championship play-off spot.
Harvey Vale put Rangers ahead, Oscar Fraulo scored his first derby goal and Richard Kone put the west London side back in front with his 10th league goal of the season.
Sondre Langas brought the Rams level again and Banel’s 88th-minute strike – his third goal in five games – secured a point for John Eustace’s men.
QPR were reduced to 10 winners after forward Rumarn Burrell, who recently returned from three months out, suffered an injury as Rangers made every substitute allowed.
Derby’s important and rare away win means they go into the final weekend of the season eighth and have a chance of making the play-offs unless sixth-placed Wrexham beat champions Coventry on Sunday.
They have lost their previous three away matches and six of their last seven away matches.
Rangers, who are currently on a 3-game losing streak and a 5-game winless streak, took the lead after 13 minutes.
Daniel Bennie did well on the right edge of the penalty area, pulling the ball towards Vale, who created space for a shot with a nice touch before slotting it past Jacob Widell Zetterstrom.
A Rangers goal was approaching. They were in front from the start and almost went ahead when Vale fired a loose ball outside the post after Kone was denied in point-blank range by Zetterstrom.
Derby equalized after 25 minutes after Rangers cleared half a corner.
Max Johnston’s errant volley fell to Fraulo, who cleverly met the bouncing ball with his side foot and would have been saved by goalkeeper Paul Nardi had it not been for Jonathan Varane’s deflection.
Rangers responded as Derby came under more pressure with Zetterstrom blocking attempts from Varane and the lively Paul Smyth.
QPR thought they had regained the lead at half-time when a Vale corner went into the net, but Zetterstrom’s Kieran Morgan appeared to have pushed through and the goal was disallowed.
The lead was restored after 10 minutes of intermission. With his back to goal under pressure from Matt Clarke, Kone showed great tenacity to beat a defender and fire into the bottom corner.
However, Derby countered Joe Ward’s right wing free kick with Langas’ header in the 76th minute of the second half.
And substitute Banel sealed the win with a superb goal, beating full-back Kealey Adamson down the left flank and firing into the far corner of the goal.
