Russell Martin says some Rangers plays in a cruel assessment of 1-1 draw against Motherwell on the opening day of the Scottish Premier season.
“We were not near where we needed, and I was very disappointed and hurt,” he said.

Chris Sutton says that at the opening day of the season, Motherwell and Rangers have heard the honest thoughts of Russell Martin, and says his players should think of it as “rotten.”
Chris Sutton:
“He went early. Is he right to do so? I think he’s balanced.
“He understands the culture here and understands that he must win. He disappeared very early, but the first game of the season is slightly desperate, and he relieves himself in one way to make the dressing room an absolute machine gun.
“To play the first game of the season, he saw them in training every day, and he should think that they have a rotten ranking. Why should he do so?
“When you see the administrator and the team fillet -and we all think he is right, but when you have seen the administrator’s first game of the season, I said before, I say that everyone has a good free season, everyone is happy in the free season.
“Now the season has begun, he has to win, but it was extreme.”
KRIS BOYD:
“For a long time, many Rangers managers have coated a lot of sugar. He is annoyed when he listens to Russell.
“What’s surprising for me is that he is calling them too early.
“He must be ruthless. There were too many players running in this football club.
