
Real Madrid has appointed Xabi Alonso as a new administrator with a three -year contract.
SPANIARD, who played 236 times as a player at Laliga Club, replaces Carlo Ancelotti, who plays the Brazilian team from Monday after playing the last match in Real Madrid on Saturday.
Alonso, 43, succeeded in the German club for two and a half years, and announced earlier this month the departure of Bayer Leverkusen.
He will be announced as a manager at the Monday Madrid event, and he will speak to the media before he is responsible on June 1st before the Club World Cup that started in the United States next month.
The Real Madrid statement added: “Xabi Alonso is one of the biggest legends of Real Madrid and World Football. He wore our shirts in 236 official games between 2009 and 2014. During that period, he got Lisbon’s 10th European Cup, one European Super Cup, one Copa Dell Ray Title, and one Spanish Super Cup.
“Xabi Alonso is also a legend of the Spanish national team and won the World Cup (2010) and two European Championships (2008 and 2012) in 113 international competitions.
“Xabi Alonso started coaching career at the Real Madrid Youth Academy and managed the U14 A team during the 2018-2019 season to win the league and champion tournaments.
“Now he has created a history in Bayer Leverkusen and has returned to Real Madrid as one of the best coaches in the world after winning the league, cup and Germany Super Cup for three seasons.”
Alonso acquired the actual aspect of the second place in Laliga in El Classo Rivals Barcelona, which was identified as a champion early this month.
