Republicans and Democrats have reached an agreement on a funding package, the US president says.

In Minneapolis, on January 7, an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Good, and on January 24, a Border Patrol agent shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti. Both the killings and the ongoing immigration operation in the state have sparked protests across the country. The second shooting led Democrats and some Republicans to withdraw their approval of DHS funding.
