Republicans are closing in on the House. There is still a race to watch.

Republicans are three seats short of majority control of the U.S. House of Representatives, which will make it easier for Donald Trump to enact his agenda.

As of Monday morning, the party had 215 seats, just short of the 218 needed to control the House, according to CBS News estimates.

The Senate, House of Councilors, and White House have already shifted to the Republican Party. This means the new president-elect could have significant power after he takes office on January 20, 2025.

Control of the House would give Republicans the ability to introduce spending bills and initiate impeachment proceedings against officials.
