Rising prices threaten Minnesota’s meat sweepstakes.

Meat raffles are a tradition in some parts of the United States, often performed at local bars or American Legion or VFW posts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New York.

Players enter for a chance to win packs of ground beef, hot dogs, chicken breasts or steaks. Proceeds are donated to charity, but the economy is currently under pressure in Minnesota due to rising meat prices. And this puts pressure on the charities that benefit.
