FIA’s Sports Robert Reid resigned from Formula 1, quoting “standard failure”.
Lead seems to have fallen with President Mohamed Ben Sult, Raym, and has been the latest senior of the FIA for the past 18 months.
Reid has been vice president since Ben Sulayem, who attended the first F1 race at Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend, was elected at the end of 2021.
“When I played this role, it was to serve the members of the FIA and did not provide power,” Reid said. Sky Sports News.
“As time goes by, I have witnessed the steady erosion of the principles that we promised to do it. The decision is being made behind the closed door by bypassing the very structure and people of the FIA.
“My resignation is not about personality, but not about principles. Motorsport is responsible, transparent, and eligible to receive membership -centered leadership. I can’t remain part of a system that no longer reflects its value as a good faith.”
Last year, some chief figures participated with the FIA, including sports director, F1 technician, commercial law issue, governance and regulatory officers, Gyeongju directors, female officers of the Motors Sports Commission, the head of the Mobility Secretariat, and Communications Director.
The most notable thing is that the race director Niels Wittich and Steward Tim Mayer were effectively fired in November.
Sky Sports News I approached the FIA for opinions.
The former CEO reveals the challenge in the FIA
Former FIA chief executive Natalie Robyn, who talked about F1’s governing agency for the first time after leaving her role in May 2024.
“While I was a CEO, I worked to strengthen the federation’s governance framework and upgrade its operational transparency in a challenging situation.” BBC Sports.
“It is clear that the resignation of the Sports Deputy Director has serious structural challenges.
“If the professional process is not observed and the stakeholder is excluded from the decision -making, it undermines the foundation of a powerful organization.
“I am sad to see this development because it threatens both the reliability and long -term effects of important institutions.”
What is happening in the FIA?
Ben Sulayem is surrounded for the past 12 months after the FIA accuser has accused the results of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix in 2023.
The 63 -year -old boy also instructed FIA officials not to certify the circuit of 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Both claims have been dismissed.
He was accused of using a typical language compared to RAPPERS in an interview by Lewis Hamilton and said he wanted to see a less foul language on Tim Radio. The FIA refused to comment at the time.
In December, the FIA was able to effectively limit how to take responsibility for leadership by voting through controversial rules.
Change meant that the FIA Ethics Committee will only conduct initial evaluation to determine whether an in -depth investigation is needed. FIA Chairman Ben Sulayem and Senator Carmelo Sanz de Barros have the authority to decide whether to take additional measures against ethical complaints.
The FIA was also accused by Susie Wolff, the F1 Academy Director after the conflict with her and her husband TOTO WOLFF in December 2023.
David Richards, president of Motors Sports, is also re -elected and is now controversial with Ben Sulayem.
