Rory Mcilroy has already “shot down” the prospects that combine the Ryder Cup player and the CaptainCy role, saying, “I don’t think you can do it.”
The 36 -year -old boy will play in the eighth rider of the September Bethpage, which is scheduled to defend the cup in the US soil for the first time since 2012 and defend the miracle of Medina.
The prospect of juggling both roles is potentially faced by the US captain, KEEGAN Bradley, and is currently ranked 10th in the current qualification list.
Mcilroy, who finished as a leader in Europe two years ago, said, “I was shooting immediately because of the idea of a captain.”
“If you talked about 20 years ago, it’s probably possible, but I think it’s a big sight and how hard it is in the rider’s line.
“There are a lot of things that people don’t see a lot of Captain’s weekly weeks, especially the rider cups.
“If you are the captains, we think about additional meetings related to the vice president with the US PGA.
“In fact, the captain will be able to have a session on Friday or on Saturday. If he is playing well, is there no flexible player to go twice?
“Look, it’s just my opinion, but I think it will be very difficult.”
Mcilroy is St. Jude Championship
MCILROY was talking to the media ahead of the BMW Championship as part of Wednesday’s FedExcup playoffs.
The Northern Irish decided to skip the opening event, knowing that it was already guaranteed at the PGA Tour Season Tour Championship next week.
MCILROY pursued the seventh race as Dubai Title, inferred about the upcoming DP World Tour events, including Ryder Cup and Wentworth’s Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship, and inferred behind their decisions.
“It doesn’t take 18 years for many people to work. I feel like being in a little different position.”
“I’m playing nine times between now and the end of the year. So I still have a pretty busy stretch, and I think it would be good for me when the extra Sunday was out of the event.”
Mcilroy will take off tee with World NO 1 Scottie School in the BMW Championship held at Caves Valley Golf Club on Thursday.
