Royal Caribbean has revealed its next Caribbean cruise ship, and details point to larger, tiered versions of its latest class.
The name of the ship is hero of the seaThe fourth vessel in the Icon class is scheduled to begin sailing from Miami in August 2027. The ship features a seven-night Caribbean itinerary that includes eastern and western routes with stops in destinations such as St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan, as well as a perfect day visit to Coco Cay, Bahamas.
This class introduced different ways to organize a cruise ship, including dividing it into eight different regions and focusing on activities, dining, and accommodations within those regions. with hero of the seaRoyal Caribbean is expanding that structure with more water features, more dining venues and new accommodations designed for larger groups traveling together.

Three-story “Treehouse” suite that sleeps up to 12 people

The Ultimate Family Treehouse spans three decks and is built to accommodate up to 12 guests. The layout includes multiple bedrooms, separate bathrooms, a rooftop terrace, a private whirlpool and a dedicated space designed for teenagers.

The Ultimate Family Townhouse offers a multi-level structure with direct access to the Surfside neighborhood designed for families with young children. Surfside Family Suites and Family Infinite Ocean View balconies add more options for keeping groups in connected spaces.

9 swimming pools, each with a different purpose

Swim & Tonic, an adults-only pool with a swim-up bar, is back with increased capacity. Splashaway Bay, an aquapark designed for younger travelers, has added new water features.
Instead of one main pool deck, the ship spreads these environments out across multiple areas, giving you a variety of options depending on how you want to spend your time.
New slides designed for groups as well as individuals
The lineup of activities continues to build on shared experiences.
Category 6, described as the largest water park at sea, will add new attractions including a family raft slide that can accommodate multiple people at once and a funnel-style raft slide that is new to Royal Caribbean.
Other features return throughout the ship. Crown’s Edge is a combination of a skywalk and a zipline suspended over the ocean. The FlowRider surf simulator remains part of the lineup, along with a rock climbing wall, mini golf course and sports courts for basketball, soccer and pickleball.
Rather than dividing guests into sections by age, the focus is on activities they can do together.
Lineup of 28 new concept restaurants

The ship will include 28 dining venues, with dining venues ranging from quick service locations to multi-course experiences.

Another concept, Royal Railway – Hero Station, offers a dining experience in a train carriage-style environment, with visuals and storytelling designed to suit different destinations.
The AquaDome Market food hall is back with a new stall concept, with dessert-focused spots like Crème de la Crêpe and fresh juice options from Simply Pressed.
The Surfside location also includes cooking classes designed for families, with options ranging from simple recipes for kids to advanced instruction.
The lineup includes returning sushi restaurants such as Izumi, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Chops Grille and Hooked Seafood, as well as casual restaurants such as Basecamp, El Loco Fresh and Sorrento’s.
