
Drag Star Bianca Castro-Arabejo died at the age of 44, performing as a Jiggly Caliente, her family said.
The performer who gained a reputation in the fourth season of Rupaul’s drag race cut off some of the legs on Thursday after suffering “severe infections.”
Caliente worked as a judge in the Show’s Philippines Spin -off and also appeared in the HIT US TV series POSE.
Her family wrote in a statement on Instagram:
They said she was dead on Sunday morning, “surrounded by a loved one and close friends.”
Caliente’s family praised her “infectious energy, fierce wit and swaying authenticity”, and she added that she left a legacy of “love, courage and light”.
“She impressed many lives through her artistry, behavioralism, and a true connection that she fostered with fans around the world,” he said.
“Her physical beings have disappeared, but the joy she shared and the space she created for too many will remain forever.”
Fellow Drag Queens praised the Filipino American performers online.
Laganja Estranja, who appeared in the sixth season of the US Reality TV program, said Caliente was “kind and caring soul.”
Rupaul’s drag race British star Baga Chipz described Caliente as “one of the most kind and sweetest souls I met.”
Cheryl the Queen, who competed at the British version of the show, wrote: “We will love you forever and always shake.”
