Ryan Naderi: Rangers sign the Hansa Rostock striker as a club seal on January 4 arrival deadline day | soccer news

Rangers signed Ryan Naderi for £4.7m on deadline day.

The Ibrox club initially agreed a £3million move to sign the 22-year-old striker in the summer.

However, after further talks with Hansa Rostock the transfer was agreed. This is despite the German third-tier club wanting to keep the player until the end of this season.

Naderi becomes manager Danny Röhm’s fourth signing of January, following the loan signing of winger Andreas Skov Olsen and the permanent transfers of midfielder Torch Chukwuanyi and left-back Thur Rommens.

“I’m really happy this move has happened,” he told the club website after signing a long-term contract at Ibrox.

“I’m here now and I’m going to make the most of this opportunity. Rangers are a world-renowned club with a winning record and that’s what I’m here to achieve.

“I look forward to meeting my new team-mates, all staff and supporters in the coming days and weeks.

“I’m ready to get started and want to make a positive impact on the team for the rest of the season.”

Following the signing of Naderi, who started his senior career at hometown club Dresden before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021, Roll added: “We are delighted to be adding Ryan to the squad.”

“He is still young in terms of his career, but he knows how to score goals due to his high level of skill and he has shown in Germany that he has contributed with many assists.”

“He is a man with a lot of potential and I believe we can help him take his game to the next level. We will help him adapt to his new surroundings and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Rangers shirt.”
